Need Sov Part

You will probably have to look around. I sometimes see some on eBay, Craigslist, Offer up, Mercari, etc., or some of the other new sites where people sell everything, some state "For parts only", if your lucky enough to find one. You could take a picture and contact Minelab to see if they might still have boards, or the chip you need. Maybe Centreville Electronics, they service metal detectors. I've noticed in just the last few years that Sovereigns are getting harder to find, but they're still out there. Good luck, hopefully something will come along. I like doing my own work as well. I have the Deus and the Deus II, but I'll never get rid of my Sovereign GT. It's still my favorite beach detector. I just put an Ultimate 15" coil on it, and it's a depth monster. A fantastic combination.

Years ago I used that 15" WOT coil.
Unbelievable depth. Loved how it missed the tiny junk near the surface. Just to heavy.
Those Ultimate coils are sweet. And so light.
I've have the 13" on now.
Hopefully I can get out and give that 3×6 sniper coil a try out. Should be interesting in the trash.

Let me know when you find Davey Jones locker of treasure. 😁

I just got the Ultimate 13 coil for the Excalibur II, just put a new connector on it. I took the Excalibur II completely apart, changed the O-rings, inspected everything. About to relist it on here. Now that everything is perfect, it will be hard to let it go, but it will come with an 8" Tornado, a SEF 12X10, and the Ultimate 13, plus Grey Ghost Amphibian Headphones, and a toggle switch on the handle to go back and forth from all metal to discriminate, a new lithium ion rechargeable battery for the pod. Whoever gets it will be a happy camper.
I'll do just fine with the Sovereign GT. I don't need both of them. I barely have time to use the detectors that I have. Still trying to learn the Deus II.
I will certainly miss the Excal, but where I mostly go there's so many salvage rights now that I can't go in the water anymore anyway. Things have changed so much, so fast, over the last few years. It's nothing like it used to be back in the day.
I can use the Deus II for in the water, having to use the antenna is sort of annoying though.

I hunted with the sovereign exclusive for long time stock coil. I bought the Sunray aftermarket coil it sucked very heavy no depth i Thoth it was swinging a brick. Killed it on cherry picking nickels in trash

For me the 8" and 10" stock coils work fine. I found that the 10"x12" SEF Butterfly coil was my favorite. The Ultimate 13 is fantastic. I just put an Ultimate 15 on it because I use it exclusively for beach hunting, and it's incredible. Not nearly as heavy as the big orange thing, but it definitely gives the depth and coverage that I need. After using it a few times, I think that coil is what I always wanted, and doubt if I ever take it off. It is a little susceptible to EMI though, but it that becomes too big a problem, I have a NEL Thunder 10"x14" Elliptical that does well in terrible EMI.

I never really like the sunrays.
Yet some people do. Odd

I don't understand those salvage rites thingy.
I've looked a few of those up yrs ago.
Rarely do they go to the beach. Those claims go out for miles. Locking up an incredible amount of ocean and land.
They should be adjusted so say 100' ft from shore.
