Needed a December SILVER FIX before the ground freezes!:bouncy:

Well I thought I would get in one more hunt before the ground totally freezes on me. Sunday morning it was 60 degrees so I decided I would definately hunt right after lunch. Well by noon it was down to 40 degrees and by the time I ate lunch...down to 37 degrees! Then the rain came so NO hunting. Finally decided today that I would blow off my training appointments one last time before the super busy season hits me at the ymca. :bouncy:
It was very cold and also windy but you all know how it is. I wanted to hunt ...so nothing short of sleet or rain was going to stop me. I got close to 4 hours in before I just couldn't take the cold any more. I would have been very happy to end the season with just one more silver ....and trust me...I wouldn't have quit until I got one. :super:
Well I ended up with four more along with 2 more injuns and 10 wheaties...so maybe I can sleep in peace over the long winter months. The merc is a 1919 and one of the injuns is a 1902. The other injun I'm not sure of.
Used a combo of the 6" Excelerator coil and the Minelab 1050 coil.

Bryce,

Last night I started cleaning clad and tallying up the year totals. Usually when I do this before Jan.1 we get a late December thaw that allows me to find a few more coins and screw up my totals. That is what I am hoping for. Looking at the weather forcast and the snow on the ground it might be a long shot.

Chris

I am looking foward to this summer,I hope you can make a road trip and we can hunt,If posible we can come your way to.My goal is to find civil war relic or Roman coins and last but least a pot of gold.Great finds and good luck on your next hunt.

GLAD TO SEE THAT 1050 COIL IS WORKING SO GOOD FOR YOU...NICE JOB.

You'll be out there in parka with pick ax, M-80's and shovel in hand Bryce. If you don't get out this winter Bryce, I'll see you on A&E television intervention programs. I suspect I'll be reading about Effingham, IL. opening a 1,000 acre indoor metal detecting range this winter  Hell, I'm going to watch the Chineese Olympics to see if you succeeded in making metal detecting an Olympic Sport :clapping:I'll be watching your progress in the YMCA metal detectorist finals for top seed finalists :detecting:

Your Buddy...

You did well again for 4 Hours of hunting. Any good date Wheat's? Hope your Silver Fix holds out until Spring. Time for some Research and a nice glance back at your total finds for the year. You did well and I hope it continues in 2008. Good Luck and HH!:super:

the injuns is is unreadable...but that's okay. I found some goodies. I don't think I had very good totals for the year because I spent the first 6 months with an unstable machine and coil. The last 6 months I did very well though...especially for averaging only 1 hunt per week which lasted only 2 or 3 hours.
Good luck on the research

RIGHT as can be...I'll find a way to chisel out another coin or 2 if I can...even in the snow:biggrin:
I can't wait til next year so you and I can get some more hunt time in. I'm also lookin' forward to another one of those ham&egg breakfast sandwiches you made!!

I don't think you're done for the year. We'll get a thaw and I know you'll be back out & so will I. HH Ken
