Neep info omega 8000

One of the common problems with the 8000 how it responds to screw caps bottle caps ect.I did figure out the minor differences between a good target and bad however takes more time to investigate than I like compared to other models Ive used which leads to my question would the 8 inch round coil make the difference.I like all the other features of this machine depth tones notch ground grab last how light it is. Etrac,,,, excal,,,, omega,,,,lobo sp,,,,musky x,,,,G2,,,,

Ive been using the 11 inch coil because of better depth thinking about getting 5x10 dd in case I dont keep the 8000 have the G2 that I can use it on.The G2 serves a different purpose in the nails cellar holes micro jewelry gold ect.but as a all around coin shooter where there is high conductive junk would prefer a machine that has a clearer audio break up on bad targets. P.S. :Those of you in the cheaper seats clap your hands the rest can rattle your jewelry:J.L.,,,,,,,,,,If the omega comes up for sale that is the reason why ''''''''

Well, all I can suggest is to give it a good shot of time. It is one of the best coin shooters going and isn't to shabby on relics, either. I also have a F 75 LTD and the Omega is the one I grab for pure coin hunting. I have all three coils, not the 5 x 10dd, and end up using the 10" the majority of the time. It is near equal depth to the 11"dd and being lighter, makes for a very pleasing swing and doesn't like bottle caps like the double d's do. Good luck! HH jim tn

Thanks for the info Jim tn I will slap the ten inch on and give it more time not ready to give up yet, try it in the woods tonight..........

The concentric is really nice for bottlecap disc.....great depth for low/medium mineralization. 11" DD is for heavy mineralization. If your minerals are low/med then I would follow Jim Tn's advice. In Idaho a DD is almost mandatory (high minerals). But when I hit BC infestations, out comes the concentric. Also see one of my earlier posts on BC disc with a DD coil. I posted it within last two weeks.

Hey Terra------Get that 5X10 DD & try it on your Omega!!!----I wanna hear how you like it out in our neck of the woods! :)----------Del

Here in lower Michigan the ground balances about 67-70 a concentric coil works fine not as good in electrical interference as the DD which means you can crank more sensitivity has been my experience.I got an 8 inch coil coming hopefully will get more depth and disc.to move along reasonably.I was told the smallest side of an elliptical is your reference to size of the coil in relation to its depth separation will be sacrificed by going to the 8 inch, the idea is for more wide open areas.,,,,,P.S.Thanks for the input :I got all I need except dirt with Gold in it : Gold Rush,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,CEDAR

All of the teknetic coils can or SHOULD be better shieleded , using he 10" in major areas near me is fruitless.
The extreme EMI pulsing i get results in poor operation.
Switching to smaller 5" DD coil works better but still some interference is noticed.

I ran a piece of electrical equiptment that put out 60hz cycle energy and was able to hear it in the audio.

I am currently investigating an anti-rfi tape that i found on the net.
I am going to wrap coil cable with it as a sleeve to see if it will shield better.
If shielding issue can be addressed then one can ramp up power without emi problems.

A simple test for EMI is to power up normal BEFORE GB and do a slow 360 turn with machine waist level .
I can actually " point" to an area pone with EMI .
