NEL Tornado coil on a 1280x

SWMO Mark

New member
There is a detector manufacturer that uses the 1280x circuitry in their detectors. Recently they came out with a new model that uses the old 1280 circuit, but they use a NEL Tornado 12"x13" coil. Does anyone know how they are able to get this coil to work on their machine, since it is a DD coil. Only coils that I know were available on the 1280x were concentric coils. It would be interesting to try this type of coil on a 1280x. Mark

Detectorpro. Ive actually installed the fisher 1280x onto my detectorpro unit. I bought a 10.5inch DD for the 1280 thru kelly co and soldered it in. Works like a champ. and I saved $215.00 instead of the NEL coil.
