I went to a 1926 Church on a corner on a slight hill,about 3 feet up from the sidewalk. It wasn't a huge yard, but enough to contain some coins between the Church and the Rectory. I started out with the previous days settings, Manual and 18. It sounded like Freddy Kruger scratching a blackboard. Tried Two Tone Ferrous and dug a few new pennies at 6 inches. Tried back to variable and Conductive at 20 and the machine settled down showing it was running at 17. I dug about 30 new pennies between 4 and 8 inches plus one new dime. I even went to the truck and got out the trusty E2 and still nothing except new pennies. The only thing I can think of for not getting even one Wheat is that the best detectorists, or Superman pulled all of the silver and wheats leaving just the new pennies. Got 2 Silver dimes Friday and 2 more Saturday using manual and the highest Sens I could get while remaining stable, at two churches I hit before. It was so hot yesterday that I couldn't wait to get home and drink a case of cold beer. I sat on the back patio and fell asleep half way through the first one. Looking forward to Fall this year.
