Never thought I would find one of these

J & M, nice find, could you please say what state and county you found the coin in so I can add it to my NJ circulation study?

I looked at the features and it is not a Serpent Head, it appears to be a 1787 Maris 46-e from the features I see in your photograph. Out of all the varieties there are not many where the ears are positioned in relation to the letter "C" in CAESAREA and the distance of the A in NOVA from the mane and the shape of the horse's head all point to it being a 1787 M.46-e variety.......

The Serpent head is different, especially where the ears point in relation to the letter "C"

I have had my attribution verified by a well known NJ collector, it is a M.46-e variety....

I am not too familiar with the variety of coppers, that's why I enjoy the wealth of info the forum and it's members offer. I found it in Somerset county NJ.

Thanks for the reply, I was in Somerset County for the first time last month attending a coin show at the Ukrainian Cultural Center. Nice part of the state.
I believe out of 180+ reported found NJ coppers in New Jersey, yours is the first one reported from Somerset in my survey, however, one individual who lives in central NJ never gave me all the counties he found many of his in....
Again, thanks for the information...
