New 9" HF coil shaft/new pin pointer

unearth

Member
Hello All-
I received the new 9" HF coil and MI6 pin pointer a couple of days ago. So far I'm pretty happy with both items. Only two minor items I would like to point out. One, the pin pointer and coil don't always talk to one another in a timely fashion when turning the pin pointer on and off. Second, I noticed that the lower shaft, that came with the new coil, seems to be a bit smaller than the lower shaft that came with the standard 9" coil. Today, while putting the machine together, I noticed that the locking mechanism doesn't close as tight when using the new coil and shaft. I had to re-adjust the length during the hunt. When I used the original shaft, the mechanism closed as usual, tight. Anyone else notice this?
To be sure, I'm NOT complaining when bringing up these issues. These are just MY observations.

And if anyone can tell me how to register these items at Xp America's registration site, please do. I've tried 3 times to no avail. I get the registration form filled out, but I do not receive the confirmation e-mail from Xp America.

When you use teh online registration tool, you will not get an E-mail from XP Americas. The information has been recorded once you hit submit so don;t worry. They key however is the sales receipt showing when the unit went into service. If you buy a used Deus, make sure you are getting a copy so that you have it for the 2 year / 5 year warranty period (2 years on batteries / 5 years on the rest). If you buy new, save a copy - even a scanned copy - in case it has to be repaired.

There will be a V4.1 shortly that addresses the communication issue you describe

As far as the shaft thickness, had not seen that before but will pull a few out of stock and compare them with a caliper this evening

Hope this answers your questions

Thanks for the quick reply Andy. I was concerned about the registration. When I registered my standard Deus 9" coil, and hit register, the screen said, "wait, you're not done yet". You will receive an e-mail to complete the registration. I clicked on the link in the received e-mail, and got another window saying thank you for registering you Deus with Xp America. My concern was that I didn't get this second portion of the registration process and was thinking that the registration didn't go through.
