6x9 coil for the heavy mineral conditions here in Oregon.

Most areas I hunt I can only run about 16 on the sens with the stock coil but I can run in the low 20s with the joey, did find a IH at an old fairground site with the sens at 16 had the joey on and dug around 10 inches deep to recover it.

Also need to say I would have never recovered it had it not been for the X1 probe telling me to keep going deeper.

I use the WOT and it is a great coil. I am not sure on the depth but I can tell you the ID is much better on the deepies. It was easy for me to pinpoint after a few attempts. I can run it around sens 24 at some of the places I hunt. I also know of someone who uses the joey and has been very successful with it.

Some people have success with the SunRay coils but I prefer the WOT for coverage on the beach and deep turf hunting. Just make sure you have a good digging tool because you will need it.

My advise would be to get the Sunray Stealth 8" coil. It will not go deeper but it will seperate trash from goodies much better than the stock coil. I dig dimes and cents at 8 or 9 inches. Plus it is much lighter. Think about it, do your sites have a lot of trash? Maybe more depth is not what you need.

I do have both the WOT and Stealth 8 coils and they are both great, so you cannot go wrong with whichever you get.

thanks,i keep thinking the wot becuase i always think im missing some coins that are deep, the joey sounds good how does the joey compare to the wot?

I know that I get coins now and then at 10 plus inches with the Joey and the stock coil so if your not getting the same your just not hearing them or they are not there.

I have very tough ground to hunt here.

Well.......I got the 14" excellerator when I bought the Exp2. I tried it at several sites (relics-not coins) and watched my brother-in-law dig circles around me with the WOT. Needless to say, I bought a WOT and POUNDED relics out of a pasture that supposedly was dug plum empty. Gallaghers (and some real nice brass) were coming out of the ground 10"+. The original 14"er is retired to my backup rack in the garage. Additionally, I do loads of woods hunting here and I'll tell you that my little Joey is a "sweet little sniffer". Nice and light with super tone separation. I don't even look at the screen when I've got the Joey on.

Anybody want to buy a slightly used big black coil ? :b
