I think you will find that the X-70/705 is a great machine for now and for later!
So versatile a machine.
Started with the X-70 and now I have a X-705 coming!

Thank you so much for all of your insight! I had my first multiple silver days just last week! I love the 705. I started with the 305 but had a little accident. Went ahead and purchased the 705. It was a great choice! Talk at you later. HH.

Welcome John...I have swung a X-Terra-70 for the past three years. My new 705 should be here in a day or so. I think you will find that the Minelab 705 will surpass your expectations. The more you use it the better you will like it. HH TomB

Welcome to the forum. The Xterra series is a great detector series with the 705 being one of the best detectors around. I had an Etrac until recently and sold it. Because I prefered my 705. The etrac is a great detector, but too complicated for me and too hard to use, for me. I know other folks love them and I understand why. But I am not a technical wizard and just had too much trouble understanding it. The exterra 705 worked perfect for me. I have other detectors but the xterra is my favorite. My goal has been to get all the available coils for it. Getting close. Only missing the HF 9 inch concentric for now. But soon. <laugh> My only disappointment with it has been that minelab didnt make the 10 inch DD inch coils waterproof. That didnt and doesnt make alot of sense to me, and others. Oh well, maybe one of these days they will come out with some bigger coils. Would like to see a 15 inch coil in the high frequency. Or even a 21 inch. Now those would be some deep seeking gold finders.
