New Detector Purchase

I am looking for a great detector that will handle salt water with no problem and will run in silent search mode.

Wrong forum to recommend a detector other than a Tesoro but having used several single frequency detectors, including a couple of Tesoros, on the Gulf Coast beaches there's no doubt that you would be better off with one of the Fisher CZ versions when hunting the wet sand and shallow water. The multifrequency Minelabs are also good in salt water, but while the two Sovereigns I had had excellent depth in the wet salt sand and water they weren't quite as good on small gold as the CZ's. They also have a threshold in disc mode.
