I received an MPx digital detector for c Christmas and am not too happy with it so I sent it back to Kellyco to have it checked out. I don't know if there is something werong with it or if it just doesn't suit my purpose. Anyway the return desk suggesed I might be able to trade up to a "better" unit. I talked to a local detectorist and explained I would most likely be searching for coins or small relics in open areas or sandy beaches not too deep but due to the amount of junk in the search areas would like something with good discrimination features. He suggested the Fisher 1236X2 as an all around good unit for me. He also said I might want to get an extra 4 or 5" coil for it. Does anyone think I might be better off with something else, is this a good unit for me and do you have any experience with same? Just looking for a second opinion.
