New Deus Owner/Best Program for Park Gold Jewelry

Just picked up a Deus XP - not new to detecting - want to hit a few close parks and playgrounds to look for gold jewelry. I do have Andy S book and have read manual and in process of reading Andy's book. I live in the north Atlanta burbs where ground can be fairly mineralized - whats the best program to use to do this?

It's possible to set up the Deus to high tone only the gold range with low tone everything else. BUT I don't think that's too appropriate for you as a Deus newbie...and...looking only for gold is a lonly prospect. It's fun to find coins and relics too.

I'd recommend using Program 1 to get used to the machine and dig it all. After you are used to the sounds try burying some known targets (perhaps in a tot lot) and see what adjustments will improve the signal for you and save that as one of your custom programs.

The Deus is a different detector and also a wonderful detector ... once you find that "wonderfulness."
