HI'a everyone...... bought an ex-cal about 2 weeks ago and seem to be doing pretty good with it........ this thing is really different than my MXT ,,,but I am getting used to it.... been hunting at the local park and I have found a few coins.....pinpointing is wierd..... but its getting better............ my question is,,,, is that there are supposed to be 4 or 5 tones.......... I can hear 3.... at any rate,,,, the lowest tone seems to be aluminum......the highest are coins........ now in the middle........Pull tabs.............where is the gold supposed to be? thank you all for your very valuable input........ going to the beach next week and am all excited.......... Hi Shuffler,
try this it may help you to I.D. yout rargets .... spread out items in a line on the floor about 12 " apart, .. foil.. pull tab... bobby clip... coin.... silver... gold ring ...bud cap ... pull tab etc.. etc ... then sweep over them slowly and you will notice the different tones . foil is a BLAHHHH , pull tabs are very distinctive , and bud caps tend to quack if that dont sound toooooooooo silly ! !
When you improve and you get the EAR ?? !! you will find that you will almost be able to predict the target ? then retry over and over again with your eyes closed .This basic groundwork and practice now could perhaps save you hours of hard digging in the surf ,and help you stop wasting your valuable hunting time ! !
Hope this helps you matey Happy Hunting Tony Weston
