Yes, every time. It keeps the O-ring soft and supple (down boy!) :lol: and aids in making a good seal.
 
Probably the most important thing is to inspect the O ring carefully if it has developed flat spots and is no longer very supple it is time to get another, realistically you shouldn't need lube on an O Ring but it does not hurt to apply it ...Geo
