Please RUN to the mailbox and drop mine in there! :thumbup:

Sorry for the lack of knowing all the toys available for our hobby, but what is an Excelerator? Is it another coil? I'm interested if it is another toy to add to my toy list. Especially if it helps the process. What does it do?

Just like aftermarket high-performance "goodies" for cars, there is an aftermarket for metal detector search coils. Different coils for different jobs, maybe improvements to depth, stability, and most often either offering greater ground coverage per swing OR better separation in trashy conditions...smaller coils designed for plucking good targets out of trash and iron infested areas.

The Exelerator line of coils is made by Detech for KellyCo and sold by KellyCo. Here's a link to them:

JW - thanks for the advice, and the time you took with me via our phone conversation. My 6" DD arrived two weeks ago. It is as you promised a hot, hot little coil. Second time out, with sensitivity cranked to semi-auto 28, I found my first silver (3 Roosevelt dimes, and 1 merc 1944)and 8 wheaties, plus some clads !!

Headed to the beach this weekend, it'll help in some trashy campground areas - then on to the beach with the 10" DD!

Got a long way to go, but learning from you and very knowlegeable guys on this forum, and having a blast!

Thanks for your sage advice:minelab::detecting:

Dave(NC), hence the handle
"Rebeltector":csflag:

Ordered mine (along with Explorer) on 4/30. They were in stock.

What a sweet coil! Only one thing that I don't like about it is this shiiiiiiny foil of "Excelerator" label, painful to look at in the bright sunlight. Um, well, anyways, I removed it :biggrin:
