Hey everyone. Went out for a bit tonight. No caches...but I did find yet ANOTHER 62nd regiment button. I know have 4 in total. The odd thing is, this button seems identical in every way, but the maker is different. The back of this new one says "Smith Kemp & Wright, Birmingham" while the others all say "Rogers & Co, London Covent Garden, King St." All of these were found in the same spot. Just thought this was strange. Also found all of these "percussion caps". Can someone tell me more about these!? Thanks guys...
CC...what does your button say on the back?

Mine is quite a bit different.
Officers Silver gilt *one piece* (Nutting & Son circa 1812ish) I'm certain this is the 1812 pattern but don't know how long it lasted. I did find other early buttons with it (nothing later than 1812) so I'm fairly certain it's a War of 1812 period button.

thanks for the response. You just had to show me an 1812 button huh!? *hahah* You're relentless! great find though! The pattern actually is VERY similar. The button style is very different than mine though. Thanks for the info on the maker! I am heading to a good old old homestead this weekend. I shall return with pics!
