Why would Fisher make an upgrade to the T2 make it deeper and more quite and add all of these new features and leave T2 owners with what we have and not upgrade us??? And the fisher is going to have a small coil to boot!

It seems like if this is a better improved new detector with a lot more features and selling for a few hundred dollars more, at least let us pay for an upgrade so we can have the T2 working at the next level. It doesn't seem fair!

Or is that business and how it works, man I hope not.

Hey fellow buddy Californian,

Things happen for a reason, We need to accept and go forward.

We are so lucky First Texas introduced the T-2 when it did, It opened many an eye with what was in store for us in the future. When the T-2 came out, several of us experienced first hand what we had never experienced before and that was a detector that would pull out finds missed by our other top end detectors. It was a whole new ball game for some and an opportunity to go back to our old sites and pull our some goodies from ground we felt had been pounded to death, Boy did the T-2 make us believers!

Sure, It's not the perfect detector, But the T-2 will always have it's place and is a detector well received by many and the first to break ground with such a fast recovery speed. The T-2 is already at the next level, Maybe not for all types of detecting but it sure does have an edge in some areas other detectors don't fare as well.

Let's accept and go forward, Things happen for a reason and let's hope this makes Fisher stronger.

You are so right Paul. We all can enjoy our machines and hunt side by side and share our stories and breath some new life into our hobby. Raw power is the next step and the next step is here. You just have to except that the T2 is not a luxury ride, it is a four wheel low gear SUV with a nice paint job!:goodnight:

It's crossed my mind too. But, they say it's a Fisher under the hood. I have a hard time believing that but maybe it's true??? Anyway, it's obvious they used some T2 technology so it makes sense we should be "updatable". It's the fair thing to do. Of course they can't update everything but lets see what they will offer. It makes too much sense to satisfy the customers who might feel like the "bastard child" and offer us something ;)

You guys talk like people with unlimited expense accounts, Kinda reminds me of Paris Hilton just having to buy this years Ferrari because it has a couple different accessories than last years model.
As long as Detector makers continue to make minor changes on existing models and pass it off as a whole new product I guess there will be people who are really hoping for something really new.

The F75 is not a minor change on an existing model. Dave Johnson, the cheif designer, has said the F75 is not based on the T2. The F75's electronics are entirely new.

fisher have the knack of taking a good machine and making a load of poo out of it ,so i'll wait and see, whats bothering me is the fact that the coil systems are not interchangeable with the t2 hinting that this is a completly different machine in the same outer casing .now that does NOT mean thats its going to be better only time will tell that .in the fisher advert its states a double d coil not a biaxial one is this the difference in that might stop it dead .be a fair while till it hits this side of the pond anyway so i'm off to play with my t2 in the meantime and let someone else spend there bucks first .

What's the difference? Everyone who buys a detector takes a chance on it becomming replaced by an upscale or improved model. Those that wait months after a new model release before making their purchase usually have the most to cry about. For instance in the Fisher line, 1260 becomes 1265, next the 1266, then 1270, in the CZ line CZ6 becomes CZ6A, next a CZ7, then CZ7A, CZ70. Minelab makes the Explorer, then the Exp II, changes the color and some programs and calls it a Quattro, change the color again to the Explorer and some program changes etc. and call it the SE. Whites did it with the Prizm line. You could go on and on, the point is these things are like the changes that take place in the laptops (hp/compaq, same company), or iPods. One takes a chance on buying any detector unless he gets a good demontration at a dealers store before buying. Buy mailorder, then complain about the purchase, I just don't get it. I'm not a dealer, just learned my lesson too, the hard way.

Lessons should not have to be learned the hard way! Manufacturers need to be held accountable by the consumers who are used or in the Fisher F75 case abused. I learned my lesson too.
Next detctor purchase will have to be demo'd and proven on the maket by forums before I purchase. I an only hope that the consumers will heed the messages we have posted. The forums are a great way to review your next purchases....

The hobby is what we all really appreciate. If we stay a few years behind we'd be safer and the manufacturer's would have to work harder and be more honest with us if they want sales!

I was under the impression that we have a choice when we buy a product. I agree with KCK don't go out and buy the first new detector that comes out. Besides in this age of electronics every few months something becomes better. No beef here.
