New ~ Garrett Pro Pointer and Fall updates to the GTI 2500...:garrett:

Hello Fellow Garrett users,

Just to let you all know of the new Garrett products coming soon!

In the fall will be the Garrett Pro-Pointer pinpointer, retails at $149.95. It is a handheld pinpointer that has a 360 degree side detection area of detection shaft and also the pinpoint tip. Water resistant and also has a sifting blade for scraping through soil during target recovery. Cool eh?

Also beginning in this Fall, the GTI 2500 will be shipped from the factory WITHOUT the treasure talk feature. The button on the lower right will now be a backlight button for on-demand backlight.

One more thing this fall, a new Charles Garrett book called: "The Sport of Coin Hunting". Pocket size like the last 2 books.

Whenever I doubt my GTI 2500 all I have to do is use another brand detector. I used a Tesoro Lobo supertrac some today from a fellow prospector. A fine machine for sure and light and easy to use. We did a test on a 0.1 gram nugget which I found using a technique called "Booming" with a high banker this weekend.The lobo picked up at 1 inch. My GTI 2500 did not pick it up as was expected. I get down to about 0.5 gram nugs (lead) with it.

But still I love the GTI 2500, I used it right after the Tesoro and enjoyed it more even though it doesnt do the tiny stuff, it rocks and was deeper in All Metal Mode for regular size stuff. Made me think of what a new Scorpion might be like since the Tesoro had a very nice auto ground balance feature using 17.5 khz frequency. Close to Scorpion freq.

It's time for a new detector the GTI detectors are getting old. Garrett needs to look at a new top of the line model.:detecting:
 
Nice to hear from you. I have a bunch of questions for you but I'll limit myself to a few.

How much gold have you found. You don't have to get too specific. Is is grams? Ounces? Pounds? More? How bout a teaser pic?

Where do you get Internet access? Do you go down to the "big city" to a library or to Starbucks?

You finding time to do any other detecting like old homesteads or forts?

What team? I must have missed it.

I had my suspicions that the "new detector" was a pinpointer. I don't use on nor do I need one. I must be the only person in the whole country who uses and likes Treasure Talk. The back light on a button is a better idea. I never use that particular button anyway. I think sensitivity and volume should be adjustable without entering settings too. That would be a lot of buttons, though.

I'd love to hear more specifics about your adventure!

I looked at your posting history and I missed your great dredging vid. Thanks. That answered most of my questions! I'd still ove to hear more. You should write an article for one of the TH mags.

I have found 4 OZ of gold, or close to it. And have sold much of it to pay bills and live off of. But i dont mind Im having fun.
I dont detect as much as I want to but I am always scouting sites for future detecting.

I use Verizon Wireless Modem which I plug into my laptop. I think it uses the cell towers for internet access. So it and my cell are all the same bill. Verizon is only service that works here, weird, but Im glad that is what I chose to use.

The team I was talking about was the G N R S team. I made it but cant get back east without spending lots of money.

Hey my dear bud how ya doing. Are you still scraping up all that gold? I field tested the prototype for that new pinpointer awhile back and I'll be getting a production model soon. I'll be interested in seeing what changes have been made between the two Take care anddon't be astranger.

Kool you tested the pinpoiter already. I hope to see some new detectors soon also. Yep still sucking up gold and having a blast!

I havent decided but it looks Ill be moving to your fine state maybe end of Sept. Depends on work and cash flow. Oregon is nice and the people are too. Medford or Bend maybe.

Dont really want to live in Happy Camp during Winter.

It's good to hear about the pinpointer. They are very handy tools to have. Have you done a depth test on coins as yet? If you have, what sort of depth are you getting? I noticed in the blurb, that it said twice as deep as other pinpointers, but as they can be from 1 to 4 inches, it's not very useful information.
