New Golden Umax on its way

Well I have a new Golden Umax on its way! This I will be my fist go at a non TDI machine. I was looking to find a good coin and jewelry machine that is light, simple and fun to use. It will join my stable of many other brands of TDI machines. Hopefully it is a good decision. By the way any advice would be helpful. It is new with the newer tones. Here we go on a new adventure!

You will really like the Golden!.It is so underated. This detector is so much fun!.It shines in the trashed out areas.I really like to hunt in wide notch with the disc set on the factory arrow mark before nickel ,and the notch with control set low at 3:00 o'clock. You hunt with the Golden and you are hooked. It will get the silver coins in the trashed out parks. It does for me anyway. :-@

That is what I am hoping for a fun park, ball field and tot lot machine. I am also interested in how I get along without a display I bet I will find more jewelry.

You will.I don't know were mike hillis is?.The others will chime in.But mike swore by the golden for jewelry hunting. He has shown some nice jewelry finds with the golden.I haven't hunted mine a bunch yet.But one day i cut the golden on and walked down the side of a road and pulled a beautiful antique ring up in less than twenty minutes.Just luck i guess.Would take a pic but i sold it.I sell some of my stuff and give cool stuff away too.For Christmas i gave my sister a real sleigh bell i found with my vaqereo, that dates to the mid 1700's. :-*

You're going to really like the Golden

Well, the Golden is currently on hold. My dealer I traded with is out and so is the distributor. Seems there is a supplier issue on the Golden UMax. Do I wait for the Golden as I am in no particular hurry or he suggested the Outlaw which is higher bucks and lacks the tones and notch but has 3 coils. I am really only using this as a fun coin & jewelry machine for parks, ball fields and tot lots. What should I do. Never used a non TID machine before.

I would find out about the golden.Trust me.There are those here on findmall that will tell you this detector is the best cherry picken detector there is.The tones and notch make for the perfect park jewelry and coin detector. Some dealer or ebay has to have a new tone golden.I don't want to go park hunting without the golden.I hope you find a golden. You see it's the notch and tones that make this detector.I got to have my golden now.The outlaw is just a straight shooter.I would find a golden!
:-Q

I don't have a Cleansweep coil, but I'm thinking about ordering one from Rusty Henry. You're not going to get a lot of depth with it from what I've read, but you don't need a lot of depth when sweeping sports fields for jewelry and coins.

I just got my new tone Golden

53 silver on Utube shows what it can do , probly the best video i have seen on the Golden I had one but got rid of it because it was not a depth monster , but it found me silver coins, and liked the three tones, but never used the notch, and width controls so i never really learned it . and the one I had was badly abused, the coil was craked, , I did get a 3x18 clean sweep and it was a real coving coil especialy in tot lots , somtimes i would not even swing it just walk with it found all kinds of stuff that would have taken hours to find swining the smaller coils.

The golden goes deep for silver for me.It has that 12khz frequency. It loves silver for sure.I have done better with the golden on silver coins than the vaquero.I wonder what is going on with them.Hope they did not find a technical problem.I love the way it goes right thru the trash and straight for the silver. :-D

You lucked out seeing how production and availability has stopped on em for now

Im getting one next year after i get my excal 2 since i water hunt 90% of the time but the golden will be my go to unit for parks and dry sand beach hunting if the gold gods are good to me and we get some good cuts maybe be soon .

Well seems I am out of luck for the time being. My new Golden is not on its way as it has already been stated they are not available. So since I had sent a machine in for trade, I might be adding to my trade in and get a Tiger Shark. Is that a wise decision for the inland lakes in Nw Ohio, Indiana and Michigan? I was really looking for the fun factor of the Golden but I have done a little water hunting this fall and really enjoyed it. As a single tone machine does it still have different sounds for some objects? Like on my MXT it was a single tone but on good targets you would get a much fuller sound. So should I wait or should I go with the TS?
