I am and have been a long time Garrett user but I have been looking at the Bounty Hunter Pioneer 505 as a second detector for my nephew. I don't know anything about this detector. any input would be helpful. thanks

Bounty hunter makes good detectors at affordable prices . You can not go wrong with the 505 I have a sharp shooter II , they are pretty much the same machine I have found boat loads of coins with mine and 1 class ring. I also have a minelab x-terra 50 and the bounty hunter has found just as much stuff as it has for alot less money. Bounty hunters are easier to use for me and I love the high pitch tone for coins they give . I have owned two bounty hunter and will probably own another one in the future. I think your nephew will enjoy it.
