New Omega 8000

Pepa

Well I got the Omega 8000 and with the weather finally clear, I expect to get out this afternoon for a maiden run at one of the local schools. Now let's see if I have this setup correctly. Turn on, find clear spot (by pressing pin point in disc mode or leave in at) set disc to 16 (to knock out small nails) or maybe higher if in heavy trash. set sens. as high as noise allows. Use 3 or 4 tones and use freq shift if experiencing interference... Does that sound about right? Thanks for any advice....

Don't forget to ground balance after you find that clear ground.

Yeah, thanks JoeLO I forgot to mention that...(GB). "most important". Actually the manual says GB in the AT mode, but from what I read here ground balance can be done In the Disc. mode as well... and ramairnut believe me, I would very much like to find some silver and gold. Just have to find the right spot...

I think on your v6 you set your disc at 40

Really TP63? so it's 16 for the ver 4 and 40 for the ver 6..... Thanks, that's how I will set it up...

The iron range is 0-40 but on the v4 a nail will disc. out at 16 they fixed that an the v5 and 6 and also embedded the serial number in the software on the v6
