I got the camo version last Nov......How are you folks liking or disliking this detector.......thanks for any and all replys......hh.......Dan
ps or any other f75ltd owners

I'll tell you when I first got my unit it took some getting used to because I never had the f75 or any fisher before.......but I found I could calm it down and still find good stuff with lower sen. and later I started cranking it up and trying many setting.....it will find it if its there......you'll get some false signals from old rusty iron fragements but you can find what works for you in your soil type......hh........Dan

Hey Dan, I got my F75 LTD on January 11th of this year. If my spreadsheet record keeping is correct I have hunted 91 times for a total of 189 hours, so I should have a solid opinion and report by now......should being the key word.
Do I like the LTD? YES!!! Am I 100% confident that I now know all I need to about her.................hell no!! I feel like I learn something every time I go out as I continue to hammer old local spots that I hunted for 4 years with my DFX. I have found 23 silver coins thus far this year, the oldest being an 1892 Barber dime in the woods at a depth of about 6 inches. I have found my first V nickel, my first Walker half dollar, 6 Indians and roughly 800 coins total. SO....why don't I have a chest pounding report on the LTD yet? Because I don't think I have yet seen her complete capabilities. Just last night I pulled a small metal "disc" about the diameter of a .38 caliber shell casing from a solid 8" plus, I have not ID'd this thing yet, it may be trash but, I learned something about an extremely small target at impressive depth. I learned (again) that no matter how loud or how quiet the tone, if I get a four way signal with a small VDI jump (no matter what that VDI number is), I better start diggin' cause the LTD knows there is a target under the coil.
I am still experimenting on most hunts, changing disc, sensitivity, tones, etc. I read three forums most every night to see if the gurus have written anything new that I was missing or not understanding about my machine. Tonight I was hunting a local ballfield (for probably the 50th time) and I tried the Tom Dankowski formula of disc 6 and monotone because this field had a torn down movie theater dumped in it for fill back in the 1950's or 60's. Iron is horrible here and the GB is running 65-68 with an FEO reading going two to three bars at most points on this field. I ran this for about the first half hour with the sensitivity at 60 and the iron falsing and chatter were fairly high. I dropped the sensitivity to 40 to see what it would do to the false signals and the chatter, the machine immediately ran a lot smoother and quieter.....but now I was wondering if I programmed myself for a loss of depth. That answer came quick when I hit a solid 78-80 four way signal, the depth readout said 8" but I knew from experience it would probably top out at 6, I seem to experience about a 2" variable when using the 5" DD coil (my favorite, by far). The coin was right about the 6" mark and turned out to be a 1925 wheatie. The tone was solid, the VDI was solid and the false signals were gone. Another thing I'm noticing since we have been going through this dry spell is the "up averaging" seems to be pushing the VDI higher than when the ground is moist.
Wow, this post has rambled far and wide already. SO.....to sum it up.....I have never regretted changing to the Fisher F75 LTD this year. I love the weight, the tones, the battery life, the sensitivity to small objects, the backlight..............the whole machine. BUT......the final verdict is far from in on just how GREAT this machine is. I know it has made me consider selling the DFX and getting another First Texas product as a back up.............hmmmm,,,but which will it be? A CZ or a Tek Omega?

SO, Dan what has your experience been like and what do YOU think of the LTD?

Good Luck and HH

Dave

Thanks Dave,This is the info I was hoping for,It is pretty much the same with me......I tried all kinds of settings that work fine....listen.... this one guy was talking about running disc. at 50 and finding silver well guess what I went out to my pounded yard and found a merc. in about 5 min no kidding I don't remember the sens. but disc. at 50 this is a heavy trash area I mean heavy I was in 4h tones I got good solid readings about 4-5 inches it was there and how many times had I run over that area....I have run it hot as well when I got used to the noise.....its been to hot down here in Ga. lately looking forward to cooler weather........hh......Dan
PS I like sta all metal mode also....

Hey Dan I just bought me a used ltd[camo] I only have abought 50 hours on mine right now. i have to say with out the help of you guys on this forum I would know doubt be pulling my hair out right now!!!! I To have tried many diff. settings, and as Dave said have also tried Nasa Toms disc 6 monotone I still need some time with that one. One thing I did find out the other day at a well pounded park, while hunting with my cousin, who runs a F4 ,witch I ran before the LTD,I found more nickles in one day then i did in 5 months with my F4??. I did some experiments with notching. I ran sens 80,disc 6,notch 50,tone 3,proc de. Now I notched nickles back in,and ende up with 3 quarters,2 dimes,5 nickles[my record in one day],22 pennys,1 1944 wheat. The ltd smoked the f4,dont get me wrong that f4 is one hell of a coin shooter!! But the extra depth and sensitivity of the ltd out shines it,I cant wait to see what it does when I get it halve figuered out!! My cousin has all ready started looking for a f75!! I wright down all the settings I use on every trip out,so if it works at a certain location I can refer to it again.I have found that if you can get this beast to quiet down, you can start to open the gate a little further each time.

Same problem how do you get it to quiet down?

I've got quite a few hours in with my camo LTD, which I got late last Dec. and do hunt just about daily for about 4 hours. If one comes from another detector, the F 75/LTD will seem noisy. In time, you won't notice it. EMI, of course, is one forum of chatter. I run my LTD hot. Bp mode, never notch, 0 disc. and 85 and up sen. If emi becomes a problem, usually going to 6 disc. quiets it down. If there is severe emi, I'll drop the sen. a bit, as well. The other, every day type of chatter, just is what all the detector is telling you is under the coil. Because the LTD has such a rapid target response and is so sensitive, you will hear everything the detector is seeing. Which, is good. Again, hearing everything that is in the ground does take some time getting used to, but the end result(s) is even more and better recoveries. HH jim tn

Very well said Jim,it is one hot machine!! I havnt got good enough with mine yet,or just havnt got used to the chatter yet to run her wide open, but i still feel confident the day will come:thumbup: Shooter, the only way I can get mine to quiet down is back off the sens.,or depending on the ground your hunting in,I have found going back to factory default gets me back in the game again and then I start cranking it up as i go. I forgot my headphones the other day[getting old]and i was hunting with my cousin I set my detector down to dig a target and he was next to me watching, and commented on all the noise that was comming from my ltd,all I could say was I am running it hot today!!! Like Jim said its telling you everything beneath the coil. Keep with it,its like fine tuneing an engine, listen to it close, its telling you how its running:cheers:

Dosen't matter what you do or how you set , you just get running noise constantly no matter how you set it up , number just go crazy and the ID at the top are all over the place and nothing stops it. even dose it with the coil straight up in the air. Fisher tech heard the noise on the phone told me to set the sen. at 15 ,but no difference.

Wow Shooter I dont know what to tell you, mine talks alot but not to the sky. I read on here one time to make sure your cable has a good connection between the coil and the machine. You must have alot of emi and ground issues.

ables tight and it happened a 4 different places and no power lines.

Shooter did you try the factory reset?...........hh........Dan

Yes i did didn't help.keep the suggestion coming I'm trying all of them.

I just typed at the other post look up
