Read these posts, a lotta tips here, check on Youtube, some vids there for the Safari and general detecting. I also have Andy's Safari book. Go slow and practice.

Well, it came with my detector today. I went out for a few hours, and did notice it went a lot deeper than my last machine. Bug it seems to be a little chatty. And I was having some trouble pinpointing some of my targets. But....I did get 2 1924 wheaties and a 1935 wheaty at my parents house, that I hit pretty hard with my last machine. So, I definitely think ill have some better finds.

I have owned and used Minelab Sovereigns since the first year or so they came out. The Safari is a little similar to that machine, but still different. Have been using my Safari for about three weeks and have been getting up to four hours every day on good days of hunting, And I am just now really beginning to get it sorted out somewhat. Hang in there as these machines take some time getting used to. Remember a Metal-detector is a tool it is not magical, how the operator uses the detector and interprets the signals is important.

Thanks! Im glad I got andys book. Im just about done reading it, and wow! The tips in it are awesome, and very helpful. I can't wait to get back our tomorrow!
