Howdy,
After finding some age at a new site last Friday, and not being able to check it out again over the weekend, I couldn't stand it any more and made use of a nice evening here to squeeze in a mad dash one hour hunt. I put the 8x6 SEF on and went back into the richest signal area I had encountered, which had produced several old Wheats prior (including two 1909 an a 1910).
I managed to pull two silver, but not quite the age yet that I suspect is still hiding. The '36 Merc would have been a very nice one, with nearly full split bands, but it was lost among a very gravel-filled section and really got peppered. Got that one first, followed by the Roosie, and then it was dark way too soon. I just wish this site was closer, but was happy to have rebalanced the Wheats/Silver ratio back at least.
