So far I think my V3 is going to be a great machine. I have found $9.00 in clad in 3 hours at the local school, Trying to learn the machine. I noticed that it sure does go through the batteries pretty quick. During the day I set the back light to 1 at dust I set it at 10 to 15. I really want to make my own programs Do you guys have any advise? I really want to learn this machines full capabilities. My V3 nails quarter and in the two hunt at the local school I nail 25 quarters. I've only used the V3 twice. Tomorrow I'm going to an old park I hope for silver I know I will get silver. MD with confidence If you know your are you will. :clapping: I will post pic's if I do. Wish me luck. I will pray to the silver gods tonight.

No silver maybe next time did pick up some more clad though. I've got to do a lot more reading. I want to get good with this machine I also want to make up program and rename them you guy have any pre made programs that work great? Or do you just use the stock programs and tweek them?
 
Hi Pro slightly modified for me...............works great.
 
What did you tweak with High pro and what do you listen for? I try deep silver and I can drive you crazy man its all over the place sweep pretty slow. I want to learn filtering, sensitivity, discrimination values I want to really learn this machine do you guy have any suggestion on books that may help. I want to start hunting with confidence. When I hit an old park I want to know that I did the best I could with the knowledge and a capable machine.
 
The changes that seem to work for me is lowering the Discrimination to 75 and the filter is set to 5 Hz high. Keep in mind that the same changes might not work best for you. A couple of books are being written, but it is too early yet, the V3 is fairly new, you will just have to learn right along with the rest of us.
 
Thank Larry I guess I will do some tweaking as well to see what I get. I try to run as hot as possible with out be unstable. I want to learn more about what filters do discrimination, sensitivity. I was using the MXT 300 and I've only been MD for 8 mos now so I'm really new to MD but I am going to learn how to use this machine and tweak setting with confidence.
