New to F-75 & have some questions

I just got an F-75 and took it for a spin in my backyard. I was very impressed - it found a 1/2 in. diameter aluminum washer at 7 in. mixed in with a large nail. I also found a silver Roosie dime at about 6 in. and I have been over my yard many times with many other detectors. I was wondering what settings people usually use when hunting school yards for deeper coins. I took it to one school yard and got all sorts of chirps and grunts until I turned down sensitivity to about 60 and notched out everything except coins. I did find some shallow modern coins but nothing deep. I did get a few deep hits that sounded good but there was nothing in the hole. Also, what settings do people use for relic hunting (I want to hear everything except iron)? Thanks for your input!

Welcome to the F 75 fold. I mainly old coin hunt and my favorite settings most often are de mode, 0 disc., (I can still hear the iron grunts) sen. as high as stability allows,(usually around 90 on most of my sites) no notch (never) and 3h and 4h tones. If power lines and school buildings come into play with emi, I go to 6 disc., which, quiets the F 75 down and I run sen., again, as high as possible. Along with these settings, I strive for a good gb to insure max. depth.
For relic hunting, I will use some all metal, but usually the same settings as I use for coinshooting, but I use 2f tones. Good luck. HH jim tn

Thanks jim tn - this is really helpful. I noticed that the F75 is really sensitive around power lines etc. I'll try your settings and I'll also work to develop an ear for the good targets. It will take some time and patience but I am happy with the machine so far. Thanks again & HH.
