Hi I am new to metal detecting and am looking for a metal detector. I was looking at an older Minelab Sovereign. Maybe an XS or Elite. I don't want to spend a lot so for my first one not the GT. Can anyone let me know if this is the way I should start or am I way off track? Thanks.

- Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

I agree with Silverman , you can't get a PM without your email . And also further information about what kind of detecting your doing . If can answer this then we can give you more advice . Also advice can be very bias from "hard nosed" forum members pushing you towards only a model they own and blind to all other models and there are many to choose from . Tell us more about why you chose the Sovereign line without being experienced with it . Also you should let us know the general price range you have to invest as well . There's a tons of good stuff out there so a price range is necessary . IMHO,
