New to MD'ing

Being new to MD'ing I did a lot of research into what may be the best detector for me. After weeks of reading all I could find on the various brands and models of Metal Detectors I settled on the Omega 8000. The comments from everyone on the forum and a video on You Tube about the Omega 8000 and its features and ease of use convinced me that it was the machine I should go for. Anxiously awaiting it's delivery to see if it performs as well as everyone claims. For those interested the video can be viewed at
( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga2rtBmm0nY&feature=related ) it is very informative.

Glad you found what appealed to you Sir. Remember take your time, learn the machine, and expect to dig some junk items. Not all targets are keepers..
You will soon, and possibly, on the first hunt find some nice Silver coins and other things.. Research the area you are going to detect. Older the site the better for finding valuables. Even some new sites had things on them before. so it's possible to find old coins there. If your hunting a tot lot built in say 2009 then don't expect much except new losses.........Clad coins and maybe some jewelery lost.. Good luck, keep us posted how it's going and there are great people on here who will help you learn.

Welcome to the forum. You made a good choice with the Omega. Lots of info. and knowledge are avaliable here, so stay tuned. Thanks for the video. Txquest

I have an Omega 8000 and like it very much. I easily find a lot of coins.
Good luck to you.

i know, I might be a little bit biased, but that's because I own and use my Omega and enjoy it more and more each time I get out. :)

As others have or will say, just be patient. If you have any questions, ask them here. If you take the time and put in the effort to learn the Omega, you'll certainly be pleased as the rewards will come your way.

Happy Hunting!
