New to NW Mich........What Detector??

Hi Group I relocated to the Upper Peninsula of NW Mich from So. MN late last year. My question is this. The soil here has allot of iron.......even looks rusty red. What suggestions on a Fisher detector would be recommended for coin shooting at a depth of 8" or shallower in iron soil??

Your on the right forum I have similar sounding soil and I live in Georgia and the CZ'S ground balance fine here and get well over 8" on coins I won't never be without a CZ for coin hunting!!

Fisher CZ3D is my recommendation. It was designed to go after older deep coins, relics and works as well if not better than most beach detectors. It has a salt mode that works very well in adverse mineralized soil and salt beaches. Fresh water beaches are never an issue. Its a truly versatile and capable detector for the most popular types of hunting. The discrimination works very well, target i.d. is outstanding. When you learn the tones and how they are slightly different for the targets, you'll be amazed at how accurately you will be able to call your targets. It really is a coin magnet, especially older coins. It goes deep, I've been on the beach behind the Minelab guys and picked up targets that they've passed over, some that were pretty deep. The CZ3D can be a turn on and go type unit, you manually ground balance the unit, set it and you're hunting. The analog interface is one of the fastest. It will handle iron masking very well, the recovery speed of the unit is great. I've been using mine for many years, the more I use it, the more I like it. I'll never be tempted to sell it. I live in South Florida and I hunt in other states from Ohio through the south. Best of luck to you.

Sounds like your around Traverse area, I'm SE of you in MI. I've used my CZ3D, F75 and Etrac alot up there and they all seem to do pretty good in that higher min soil.
