Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum, just want to say "Hey".

I am a returning novice detectorist, I haven't detected in about a year or so. I had a Bounty hunter Lone Star, had decent luck with it, lots of clad, a few pieces of silver jewelry, still dreaming of the silver coins and gold... SO... I just bought a new Garrett Ace 250 this week from Kellyco with all the extras, also a free v4 pinpointer for FREE. I know this is a better machine than the BH. The horrible part is, it's right here in fron of me, but where do I live??? Massachusetts, where the ground is frozen, and of course still covered with some snow!!! I have a 6'x6' piece of yard in the front of the house where I can test it out because the snow actually melted off of it, so I did today. I got hits showing in the 25 cents, dime, and a few nickels... I am about to go out there with a flame thrower tomorrow to thaw that dirt, I can't dig!!!! And this house I just recently bought has one half built in 1793, the other half is from 1890... Just the thought of what could be out there in this yard is killing me. I have 3 huge old trees, and a good sized yard, and I doubt anyone has ever hunted here. Yes I stare out at the yard with great hope of something good to find. I live in a VERY old town incorporated in 1762. I uploaded a picture which is from 1906 looking towards the house I am in. Lots of history in here. My fathers yard is another place I can't wait to hunt, his house is about 1.5 miles from me, it's a newer house(1966), but I am sure there will be something there. I did use the BH for 20 minutes last year in his yard and found .93 in clad of all sorts. He lives next to a 200 year old cemetary which is bordered by a 2 foot rock wall, could there be treasure along that? On his side of the wall of course, I will not go on the cemetary side, that would be just wrong!!! I drive around town(which is very tiny, - Chesterfield, MA.) and see these old farms, old foundations of houses in the woods from back when, it's like an obsession to just imagine what could be there.

I cannot wait for spring!!! I hope I can make it till then....

Welcome to the forum..
Good luck !!!

You have some really prime territory waiting for you and it's going to be tough to wait till spring.. I would be frothing at the mouth. Welcome back to detecting. We will look forward to your success and pics of your great finds.
