Hello all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been detecting on and off for about 10 years. Currently, I am awaiting my new ACE 250 to arrive. I have been reading all the post's and have learned a lot from you folks. I am hooked.

Welcome to the forum ! :detecting::garrett:

Sound like you are a polished metal detector user. 10 years of metal detecting has probably gotten you some nice finds and adventures. Please post your finds, ask any questions you might have and share your knowledge.

Welcome aboard the best detector forum on the internet. Glad to have ya. You have chosen a great little detector which will reward you well. We will be looking forward to your success and pics of your finds. Good luck.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have had two Garrett's over the years and I have been hunting the last few years with a bounty hunter tracker IV and then a SS2. I am really looking forward to hunting with my new 250 (It was a late Christmas present to myself). Like I said I have been reading the posts and replies on this forum for a long time and I have really enjoyed them. I have learned so much from all of you. I live in upstate NY, we just got about 6 inches last night and the temp is in the teens. Think I will stay inside today!

Yes welcome aboard the Good Ship S.S. Garrett!
You will find the Ace 250 to be a capable little unit and a very nice tote along model. It's one I grab when i have little else on my mid but cruising the parks and tot lots.

Mind the SENS, as you can get it to high and not realize it. Then your little Ace will be bonging and bouncing all over the place.
Avoid the "Coins" mode, no matter what the instructions say - hunt in Relic or Jewelry mode and listen to those tones.

Good luck!

Thanks for the great info Dahut! I just can't wait till it gets here!
