New Whites PI detector with discrimination?

Circle C Digger

New member
Has anyone heard about a new PI with discrimination being developed by Whites? I read a blurb about this today on a UK forum talking about next generation PI detectors. They mentioned it would be a less costly alternative to the current models being developed. Sure would be nice. I"ll start saving my pennies.

I don't know about Whites, but I also, while reading a UK Forum did see an advertisment for a French made discrminating PI unit.

I heard that Whites is bringing out in a PI detector this year. Here is what the local rumor mill is saying:

It's not waterproof, but it may be down the line. A super powered PI detector with ID function.

They suposedly have 2 units in beta test here in the West Coast. White's intent was to make a gold nugget hunter to compete with Minelab, but they also discovered that it's a super beach hunter. Heck it should be, it's got a big increase in transmit power over their previous unit, and the pulse delay is at 10uS. Oops, did I say pulse delay ! Yes it's a pulse detector with ID'ing.

Mind you, this is not confirmed by White's or their local dealers.

Any guesses what the cost will be? I hope it is under $1500. I hope it is water proof as well.

Some competitive units I've read about will retail much higher.(the Pulse Devil is $2500 and the French made Adonis is $2200).

Dave's Pulse Devil should be cheaper in its beach hunting version. The Aussie version has an LCD to replace the two analogue meters on the prototype but there was also the non metered tone discrimination version. Thats all I need.
Whites U.K. deny any new P.I. but there is a P.I. coming from them in the future and its got to be a good move on Eric's part if its based on his design as he must have trouble filling present orders plus maintaining the thousands of machines he's sold in the past which though very reliable do need the occasional tune up (I've needed one in eight years). He licenced his designs to C-Scope in the past (CS6 and 7UMD). You don't get the absolute cutting edge latest design but then they are at a lower price level and more affordable.
