New XP Deus 11" coil available soon

my dealer is away at a weekend rally but has got his sister (she is looking after the office ) to ring me and all will be sorted out on monday morning to my satisfaction

there is no point getting irate about this as it will not make any difference to the end result

i think my dealer is more annoyed about it than i was and i guess someone who should have packed it better is in trouble :argue:

so out with the stock coil tomorrow as i would be if i had not bought the new 11" coil...business as usual

myself and my detecting mate micky have both purchased the new 11" coil for the deus, sadly mine was damgaed in transit so i am waiting on another one to be delivered

here is a pic taken today in the fields of the new coil and the stock coil for size comparision

the weight of the new 11" coil is only 480 grammes and the weight of the 9" stock coil is 420 grammes so xp have done a fantastic job of keeping the weight off

i have used the 11x13 coil and that coil is defo nose heavy so i did not get one

i have heard some say the 11" coil is nose heavy but micky used his all day today and did not have any nose heavy problems

it is slightly deeper and vastly superior for ground coverage as you would expect from a larger coil

i was checking some signals with him today and on the stock coil i had a half decent signal but he said it was rubbish, when i dug the signal it was indeed rubbish

the signal seperation is spot on and he says the sounds are much clearer, although it might just be us thinking this was the case

he also just used his normal settings and did not have to drop the sensitivity at all

just thought i would post this info in case anyone was pondering about getting one themselves

one thing for sure is the 9" coil will not be seeing much daylight from now on

Hoarder, I am definitely getting one as soon as they are available here in the U.S.

What did you mean by "...slightly deeper"? In my soil, I can and have detected silver dimes (~13mm diameter) at 8-9 inches of depth with the stock coil. I have been accused of being too fanatical about depth but I have at least one site whereas if I could go 1 to 2 inches deeper, I'd hit a rich layer of silver dimes from the late 1800's to the 1930's. I estimate that at this depth, there are 1000's of silver coins as this site was heavily used (approx. 15,000 every Summer for a couple of decades or so).

hi ,
by slightly deeper i mean about 1-2 inches depending on ground mineralisation

Sweet Baby Jesus! I will make a killing with it!! :detecting:

Thanks!

We have 2 in the WHRADA detecting club and they are going to be a winner for XP.
Thanks Alain and the team. Jerry.

A round coil will be slightly deeper on a target compared to an elliptical .
Given the closeness in sizes between 11 inch and elliptical big brother... Negligible in my books(elliptical almost round)
However Andy can u elaborate on TRICKs as mentioned above.

The coil is not simply the same guts in a larger housing . . . XP worked on the internal design as well as the housing itself which is why despite being 2 inches larger, it weighs just ounces more than the 9 inch stock coil. The internal circuit design has also enhanced both its sensitivity / separation as well overall detection depth . . . putting it on par size wise with other high-end detectors that sport and 11" coil with performance that makes one take notice.

More reports will be posted as they are used in the field but my experience in areas that I have hunted with the Deus as well as other detectors definitely opened my eyes as to what the new coil can do . . . . some of my finds have been posted . . . others are waiting in the wings (and I will say one is yellow in color )

Shucks, the only yellow thing I ever dug up was a hot wheel.

I think the day I dig a gold coin is the day I die of a heart attack on the field; with a smile
