New Years Eve Hunt

Went out Saturday morning with a friend and headed back to our favorite hunting site at a nearby bean field. It had rained the day before pretty much all day and night, so we took advantage of the wet conditions and the unseasonably warm weather here in Iowa, even though the wind was pretty stiff. After about an hour of hunting with only a few beer cans and the occasional piece of junk I got a good signal, I dug up an old religious medallion that was heavily corroded and much of it was gone but you could still make out the form of Mary on it. My friend had also dug a good signal at the same time only about 20 ft away from me and pulled out a nice 1865 two cent piece, I rescanned the hole I had dug and got another signal in the penny range so I probed around and out popped an 1870 two cent piece, it had been underneath the medallion. What a way to end the year, two, two cent coins all within a few feet of each other and a religious medallion. Happy New Year Everyone and good hunting in 2012 may we all find Gold.
