Newb to the T2

, hoping for advice on this machine. I’ve been reading some threads about emi on these. This is a 2015 model I think, but it does have FA and the latest updates. At my home I have a lot of emi. My vaquero threshold sounds like a yo yo effect in the yard. But it can run 10 Sens pretty easy. They recently put all our lines underground and made it worse. Now with the SE and the stock coil, in 9.0 and 9.1 it won’t shut up. I can’t even use it at my house really. Hoping I’m missing something. I do have 4 other coils to try and I will be using it out of town, but was really hoping to hit yards with it too. It’s been too cold to really get out with it. Is the stock coil just poor?

Something to add here, I adjust tones and disc and Sens to no avail. I’m doing all of this with Deteknix wireless phones. When I get home I will try without the wireless on. Could this be the barrage I’m hearing. One thing I have not tried is frequency shift.

I have now tested in the yard with all 9 frequencies and no wireless. Also used the 10x5 coil as well as stock. Leaving Sens at 65 I could run disc up to about 38 to quiet it in the air but once at the ground way too chatty. Leaving disc at zero I had the Sens down to 1 and was still chattering. If I put the coil to the sky it’s much quieter. The dirt is what’s noisy it seems. I can do ground balance and it changes nothing. The soil it totally saturated right now. But I gues the next step is another location. All my air tests have been piss poor since I got it. I threw my lighter on the ground and at stock setup would only pick it out of the chatter at 3-4” lol.

Walked to the back of my acre lot and tried again. I am able to get the Sens to about 85 with the disc at 21. For sure huntable. I guess it’s SUPER sensitive compared to a Tesoro. I put the detech 13 on it was even quieter than the 10x5 in that location. I then slowly worked back to the house and each step brought in more chatter.

I have a T2+ and can run it in my house with zero problems. WiFi and everything else going. Very quiet and my air testing is great. My Excal goes nuts and won’t quiet till I’m away from the house. Are you close to an airport?

Small municipal airport about 7 miles away. Tried this morning at 5 am in the yard. Best operation yet, still noisy. The real test will be just going out with it I guess. For now, I’m gonna say my neighborhood is just bad. I have three of the green boxes for underground utilities in my yard. 1 at each corner of my property basically. The chatter was less this morning

I can’t run any of my 4 machines in my house very well. The t2 is by far the worst. But I have nothing to compare it to since I’ve only ever used Tesoro, I don’t know anyone else with a detector to try in my yard either.... I’m dying for a hunt. Been over a month since I got to dig a hole. Really hoping this t2 works out.

also suggest you check the connection wire on coil to machine and make sure it is tightened down all the way..

I'd suggest getting rid of the old T2 and getting a newer model with DST like the T2+ or T2SE. Should run quiet in even the areas with the highest levels of EMI.

I would suggest upgrading to a new T2+ or T2SE that has DST. Should run quieter regardless of how much EMI that you have in your area.

Have you tried frequency shift i saw you mention it but didn's say you tried it.
I have a DST model and mine act's up at schools around those big light's and that's at 85 to 90 sensitivity, i do a frequency shift and all is good.
Look underneath where the speaker is should be a sticker there, the first 4 digits are the month and year it was made.

Anyone looking for some T2 coils, I have the Nel sharpshooter 9.5" x 5.5'' and the Nel tornado 12'' x 13'' for sale with
coil covers great shape
