Newbie charge question.

Got my XP in and charged it for a couple hours to top it off. Went and hunted all day and didn't pay much attention to level. Had no issues.

2nd trip out, charged it for three hours and removed it, showed full. Noticed after an couple hours I was down to bar. Only hunted a little more so didn't have an issue.

Charged it three hours last night, showed full. Hunted for about two hours and had one bar. Was using Deus Fast. After four hours total time, it was blinking empty. Called it a day after that.

Surely this isn't correct.

I have had a few short charging cycles occur myself and found it was most likely user error but it's possible you could have something defective in the coil.

When charging be sure you get a clean contact between the charging clip posts and the charging pads by give them a quick wipe first. Make sure the clip is installed correctly but don't force it down onto the pads or wiggle it around. Also , the clip extends beyond the bottom of the coil slightly and if you rest the coil flat on a surface it could possibly push the clip off the pads slightly and possibly weaken the connection , so I put a pencil or something under the coil to hold it up slightly off of a flat surface or set the coil on edge while charging. I have also developed a habit of turning the coil on after the light goes off indicating it is charged and reconnecting it . If the light stays on I let it charge until the light again indicates that the charge is full. It is also a good idea to check the plug in connections on the charging cord.

By doing this I find my 3 1/2 year old coil still runs well over 12 hours before it begins to show the need for a recharge. I don't know how long it will run when the indicator begins to flash but it has never gone completely dead on me.

Thanks for response, it's nice to get question answered.

I'll try the pencil trick and will monitor it on next outing. It did show full and light was not blinking, but will try again. Bought emergency charger so I should be able to get next hunt in.

Is your Deus new or used??
And does it have the 11" coil?

There was a problem with the charging indicator of the 11" coil when they first came out.
The cure was to fully charge all parts of the Deus including the coils (3+ hours) and then re-load version V3.2 with your coils.
This reset the charge indicator and all was good.

When charging the coils the indicator light runs solid while charging and blinks at a slow rate ( 3 seconds on - 3 seconds off) Bottom of pg.32 of the manual.

Don't know if this is your problem, but it may be worth a try.

Yes it is 11 inch.

What do you mean about reloading software with coils?

Just charge all items and reload software on remote?

Doing a re- update of V3.2
