Hello to all, I bought a $145 underwater Vibratector a couple of weeks ago and have found a alot of junk nails, etc and then a small diamond ring and a 925 earring with 20 small diamonds (not sure if they're real) then found this forum and realized I should have spent more on one that detects deeper and can discriminate. I am definitely hooked and will be diving in soon with a better detector, I'm willing to spend the $1189 for the Excaliber II, does anyone have any advice, I will be probably mostly in water (salt and fresh) and some on land, thanks for any replies

I too am new to water hunting and I bought a Excal 1000 off the classified section on this forum.. and I ask a lot of questions and everyone here is very helpful and understanding of us new to water hunting.
I have made several contacts and have received a lot of valuable advice and guidance.
You will learn a lot here and don't be afraid to ask question.
Good luck.

Mike

Welcome aboard, ya looter! I suspect you have recovered in yer line of thinking on equipment. If I could ONLY own one unit, it would be an Excal. If I thought that I MAY want to hunt fresh water too, then I would certainly select the 800. Best of luck to ya! OBTW, I have been at this game since '04 and have never seen diamonds in .925, so don't get cher hopes up too high, I'd bet cha those are CZs and I ain't really a gambling man, savvy?
