Newbie to the Quattro MP

Hello all....just wanted to introduce myself. I just recently purchased a Minelab Quattro MP and I've made one hunt with it so far....found $3.96 in clad money at an older school (established in the 1950's). I'm sure it's been detected out over the years....but I'm hoping some silver pops up soon. I did find a 1959 Washington quarter at this site with my Tesoro Bandido II uMax.....so there is probably some more silver at the site somewhere.

I am looking forward to using the Double D coil technology.....I have only used concentric coils before this Quattro. So far, I'm getting used to the detector and the pinpointing. I think I am picking it up fairly quickly though! I'm hoping this will be my last detector for a while. After becoming hooked on the sport in December 2010, I have upgraded every 3 months!! Fisher F2 --> Tesoro Bandido II uMax --> Minelab Quattro MP!

Happy Hunting!

PUMP IT UP BRO!

Welcome aboard and we look forward to seeing great finds posted. Try to get a copy of Andy Sabischs's original book "Mastering the Quattro" or the new "The Minelab Quattro & Safari Handbook" . Many of us Safari users bought that first book as most of the information is relevant to the Safari. This was before Andy took it upon himself to research and produce "The Minelab Quattro & Safari Handbook" earlier this year, as Minelab chose not to produce a comprehensive manual or dvd. You can see the small manual included with thr detector does not do justice for weekend or serious md'er. Major kudos to Andy. There are many links but here's one source to check : http://sabischbooks.com.
