newbie with an old garrett

DK

New member
I am a newbie in the hobby. Due to the death of my father in law, I have come into the possession of one of his old metal detectors. It is a Master Hunter, Deepseeker ADS III. He had it refurbished last summer. I have an owners manual, but if you have any simple explanations on how I can properly use it I would appreciate it. I have used it in the back yard and found some different items, but need to know how to use it to the best. Thank you in advance for your input.:|

Hi, Boy That Machine Brings Back Memories...I Had One And Found Alot Of Silver With It. It's A Great Machine The Only Draw Back Was It's Weight Compared To Todays Machines.. I Think I Still Have The Hipmount Handle And Battery Packs Etc. For It.. One Other Simple Draw Back Is It Needed A Little Faster Sweep Speed Than Todays Machines.. Try An Air Test With It Go Slow Then Fast When The Target Is Out Further From The Coil Then You Will See What I'm Talking About.. Other Than That It Was An Awesome Machine...Hope This Helps Some....JJ
