Waiting on my first PI machine, a Garrett Sea hunter Mk II.
Looking for suggestions on good reading material to help with the learning curve.

Thanks.

One mistake you could make, is to have a cheap-o sand scoop ........ As you want to get your target on the first scoop as it makes hunting much easier ..... My buddy had a GSH2 it was a great little machine.

Warning........ on surface targets The GSH2 will deafen you ....... you might consider the cut out form in the Headphone ear cup trick .......or get different Headphones with volume control.

Hey there acasto

I have just bought a Sea Hunter also and it is awesome! I have taken it out twice and the first trip yielded a gold ring! Check out the video below. Last night's hunt produced some coins, junk jewellery and a silver bracelet charm.

Rob is spot on about the volume. I wear ear plugs when I go detecting because the underwater headphones it comes with has no volume control and is darn loud! Don't make the mistake I did of turning the SH on inside your house or around powerlines - it goes nuts! I thought mine was broken but it hummed perfectly when i took it out to the beach.

All the best to you

Cheers

Have a good scoop, not sure if it's large enough though. My hearing is not that great, so maybe I can get by with just a little dampening.

Nice video production. Really like the music. Can't wait for it to get here.

Thanks to you both for the input.

This is what I used, I purchased thin rubber gasket material from Home Depot located in the flooring section.

I cut several pieces and added them to each side of the phone until I was comfortable with the volume at the loudest point (each ear).

Now when the machine is turned on, the volume is preset perfectly for each ear and no adjustments are necessary.

I can still hear all the low signals and it works very well.

Good idea, will give it a try.

Thanks
