General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Just a quick heads up on a forum member. I recently put my VX3 up for sale on the forums an was contacted by a newer member regarding the sale. We continued our discussion via email and agreed upon a price. Since it was over the weekend I agreed to hold the detector and remove it from the classifieds until the gentleman could put funds from his bank into paypal for the transaction. Meanwhile, (in good faith) I sold my DX-1 to another member who promptly paid and which was promptly shipped the next day. I was contacted yesterday regarding payment on the VX3 and was told that the fella worked late and was not able to make it to the bank. No problem, things happen, right?! Now today I receive an email stating that he doesn't have the funds and would I take $70 less for the detector....! Really? WT@#$ I would have even understood if he wanted to arrange payments or something but to low ball me on an agreed offer? I don't get some people. Anyhow, I missed out on a good deal on another detector due to this "misunderstanding" not to mention it making me look like an a@@ to the prospective seller. I wanted to pass my experience along to other fellow members to save them a headache.

His handle is horserider909 and his email is duke99@hushmail.com. He is from Arkansas and goes by the name of Duke, I believe.

I have had 99.9% great experiences here, guess this is just the .9% .....lol

another reason to be skeptical about new people with few posts. this isn't something new that happens. the only way i take this is to "live and learn". we all make mistakes and have to learn by them.
 
Should be .1%. I guess my math skills suffer when i get frustrated..lol
 
Did he try to get you to ship before paying ???????............. The name even sounds like a Terry Lamb choice...

Hope I am wrong .............. if so I apologize in advance............... I notice he has two different e-mails too.............

Surprisingly, no. But i mention that right from the get go with the newer members, the goods aren't shipped until payment is received! With four young ones at home I'm only allotted one detector at a time, lol.
 
That's just not right. All of us need to do what is...the proper thing to do..... and just not the "right" thing at the moment. I for one....don't want this site to be like craigslist or other sites on the net. Unfortunately, sometimes.....some people don't get it.....or just don't want to.
