Newforce CS6Pi

Eric, I have a Newforce CS6Pi. It's about 6-8 mo now since I purchased it. This machine has been touted a great machine,which it may be. I have however worked and worked to get it adjusted. It seems that is all I get done. I am ready to get something else but cannot afford to right now. I have been in contact with the Newforce people - Alan Hughes - and he has instructed me on proper tuning but it is too sensitive or something. It seems that when I do get it to what I think is a proper tune I cannot trust that there is actually a piece of metal under it. HELP??

Hi John,
I take it, that by adjusting, you mean the external controls? There are three internal presets that must not be touched except by an authorised service person. The two external controls are On/Off Threshold and Frequency. Set the Frequency control fully anticlockwise, without clicking the battery check on. Turn up the Threshold until the sound is just audible. Now pass a medium size coin over the coil at about 8in. There should be absolutely no doubt that it is there from the sound in the phones. Make sure you are away from interference, preferably out of doors and that here is no other metal close to the coil. If you turn the frequency control clockwise the pulse delay increases and you may not be able to detect smaller or less conductive objects.
