Thought I would post a pic. of the rig ... Out Dated??
first I set up grids
After locating a target...I use the small long handle shovel to
toss the dirt on top of the coil..
When it beeps..I use the probe to locate the target
Works for me...fast - to many clam shells for a scoop!!

got a different pair of "Oaks" for any look you want. It's neat how they stay in nice shape like that.

I hope you have a Secret Island to Bury all that Loot of yours! Pretty soon you will need to use a Back-Hoe to dig that hole to keep your Treasure's Safe and well hidden from younger Pirate's, especially 15 Yrs. from now! Very nice selection again Skully! I like the Oakley's myself! You can start a New Trend, "Pirates Gotta Wear Shades!". Of course, you will need to alter then a little since most Pirates have an Eye Patch! You sure have one heck of a spot to detect and I hope that they don't put water back into it for at least another year. I would like to see you get most of the Loot out of that Lake before they refill it. I just wonder how much more Gold and Silver there is say another Foot or so Deeper than the Explorer will detect? I bet there would be a ton of it! The Gold Ring sure is a nice looking piece as well. Oh, by the way Skully! I don't think HOT PINK is your color so I think you better just let the wife have the Scuba Gear! Good Luck and HH on your next outing Skully!

Nice ring Skully.......:) I pretty much dig all pulltab signals and that's why I have several gold rings to my credit. I hope my water detecting adventure turns out 1/4th as good as you have done. HH.

Nice goin', Scully. What size coil you got on that thing? I just got he 5" & 8" coils for Xmas. My areas are very trashy & I need the small coils right now, but will be looking for a bigger one soon.

The weeds have grown at the lake bottom. I usually use the 14" Excerator coil...In wide open areas...with less targets...
depending on the ground - it goes deep!! and Pinpoints well!!!
I would'nt go any bigger...

Get the 4.5" x 7" Excelerator coil and you wont have to use the
pinpoint
....It's almost as deep as the stock 10" coil....
also covers a little bigger area!! Trust Me!!

Bet you would'nt even bring out the 5" coil again!! Ebay It?
