Heres something to feast ur eyes on, first good find with my new Exp II ....pitty there werent many more like these around, but who cares?..this is good enough....funny thing it showed on the lower right side of the screen , next to the lead/foil mark, but when dug out it showed proper right in the center of the screen...I was about to let it go thinking it was just another lead bullet, but then decided to dig it out since there was nothing else around....
It came out of a hole almost 45cm deep (around 20 inches) and I was using the 15 inch WOT coil.
The old rule of thumb still works....DIG OUT EVERYTHING CAUSE YA NEVER KNOW....
Cheers

Yeah, I guess what they said about the WOT coil is true because this thing just rocks....depth is real good, although target acuracy and pinpointing is not as good as with the 10 inch coil....but I would trade acuracy for depth anyday if it leads me to more of these beauties...:)

Im not sure cause ive never found one like this before, but I would guess this one was minted in the 1700's, though most gold ducats have a date on them which is not corect since the same coins were minted for over 200 years, most bearing older dates than their real mintage...im still checking the net to find more info on this coin....but being gold surely makes it valuable ...

i thought it was a rifle barrel or something.
your coin ID'd at the bottom, like foil or lead??? hmmm.
i guess i'm going to start digging more iffy signals.
nice find though.
oh, the pipe i dug, it was old and abandoned, and wasn't even supposed to be there.

The gold ducat is dated 1755, its approx 18mm diam, almost 4gr weight and it seems in g/vf condition.
They minted large numbers of these and similar designs (almost 47 million Gold ducats were minted) and they are not too valuable when in this small type...the larger and older-probably hammered types- are worth the good bucks).
BUT, my find pales in comparison to the 5 dollar gold coin the other guy found....
Still, im not complaining....:)
