Went to my favorite old hunted out park today. I have covered this place pretty well and am usually lucky to come home with a few wheats. I noticed that someone had cleared an overgrown area along a creek. It was virgin soil in an area about 8' x 20'. First pulled a 1925 buffalo and then a 1894 V-nickle. Then the 1907 Barber half. All were pretty shallow at around 4-6" deep. It would have been nice to be the first one to detect this park back in the 1980's. That would have been like taking candy from a baby. This is my second half this year. About four weeks ago I found a 1943 walking liberty.
