Dug this in hunted out site. Any recommendations on brining the silver out some? This site has yielded 6 CS buttons in a small area. 2 Solid Cast VA, 1-2 piece VA, a CSN cuff, a CS Staff officer, and a Block I as well as an early navy one piece, 30+ flatties, several coins, and other items.

Nice looking button and save. It sounds like yall' have found quite a few buttons in this area. Congrats.

Very nice. We get very little Confederate stuff here in Missouri. What we get was "liberated" from the Union, so it's pretty much all the same, generally speaking.

I use Cream of Tartar powder and warm water to polish up silver coins and jewelry. Removes tarnish.. You might give that a try. Just gently rub it in with your finger.

Thanks for sharing,

Very cool find. WTG!

Naval jelly works real well but don't leave it on for too long, a minute or two starting out or else you'll loose all silver patina.

I ruined a T. E. Miller cavalry button with it. Just be careful and you'll be fine.

That button is really unbelievable. What a find. CCH

That's a beautiful button.
