Nickel/Dime signal

Got nickel signal and low tone and pinpointed there was also dime but no dime signal?
Does nickel override dime signal?

Depends on the positional relationship of how those coins were buried. If the nickel was just near the dime, i'd think the ID should of rung up at a higher conductive number than a solid nickel ID. However if the nickel was laying directly on top of the dime, it probably would ring up in the nickel range. Never had this happen, only a guess.

I remember a couple yrs ago I got a 12-35 about 5",thought it may be a Indianhead, I dug down and found a buff and a merc.
