This worked well! I got what I knew was there... old nickels! 1936 buffalo, 1942 nickel, 1949, 2-1960, etc...
This is a follow up to the experiment I did the other day http://www.findmall.com/read.php?63,1101884
The ratio of trash to nickels was much better. The only tweak I could see is to somehow try to knock out the pull tab "tails" and that may not be possible.
What I did was opened up CO 12-15 from top to bottom for FE. So, I accepted 01-12 through 35-12, etc. The first target was the iron bottle cap at 01-12, and after digging a second one, I decided not to dig any more 01-12 signals, chances being good they were also bottle caps.
While I did not keep records of what every target came up as on the meter, my experience was that more were CO 14 than CO 13 and several bounced a bit between 14-15.
Next I need to figure out how to integrate this into my regular coins program.
