Night Hunting light

I mount the single clip light after removing the spring and top half (just the flat bottom part) to my detector on the left top with Velcro.
The goose neck lets the light shine across my screen. I also got the one that clips on the top half of my hat brim, I leave this light off until I need to dig.
These light are of a better quality than others that I have found. I bought another cheap brand and the first time I tried to put it on the brim of my hat the clip broke off.

we went to Wall mart and bought a led light that fits on hat brim,paid about 15.00
dollars for it,
it has worked very well for me, and i leave it on while probing along beach, Ive had it since
September and it still works great, havent even changed batteries yet,

If that clip-on hat light uses lithium flat watch batteries and I do not like that, is just one thing, otherwise it is good.

I use a Petzl Tikka model with 3 LED's and a simple ON/OFF switch and uses only 3 AAA batteries that LAST. It is mini small size and ultra light weight. I love this unit so much I bought one for my mom and one for my dad. I use it almost every day for about two years or so and it is the best unit I have ever used!!!

It is a headband lamp but I never use it on my head. I always hang it around my neck with the switch facing down and the elastic head band set at maximum size putting it over my collar, never against my neck skin. Not very expensive at all but high quality from France, buy one and try this, you will never look back. This method is tried and proven over a long period of time.

I buy cheap bulk Maxell AAA's alkalines batteries at Wal Mart 36 pack for about $9.98, but the batteries needs changing only about once a week after using it everyday for long periods!!

nice setup. Where did u get the flashlight and holder to go on the shaft?

I get the flashlight at Wal-mart and make the holder.

Looking closely, I can see he used two PVC tees and a short nipple, then painted the whole thing black. Very, very clever.

I downside of making that part of the shaft comapred to wearing a head lamp is that you have no light for when you;re digging the hole whereas with the headlamp you have when you;re detecting on the ground AND in the hole while you're digging
