Looks can be deceiving. Many years back my buddy is driving along in his 1979 Ford F150 pickup truck and sees a puddle on the side of the road....He drives right for it and BOOM! That puddle was DEEP. So deep, he hit the underneath of his frame on the right side but was able to get out. That was scary as I was the passenger. 
I can laugh now however It wasn't funny at the time. Moral of the story don't assume
